Blog #2: Beauty

After listening to the TED TALK, I can say that I didn't know that therory. This TED TALK taught us why do we find something beautiful. It shows us that it is more than our culture or our eyes. However, it is something deeper that came from our ancesters.

The first most surprising thing for me is when he explained that all people find few caracteristics of nature beautiful. It is the case of trees, roads, animal and rivers. I didn't know that this aspect of nature can be universal.
I also like when he talked about the triangular shape of the hand axes. That shape is simple and people find it beautiful.
  • The artwork that I find the most beautiful is "Labourage Nivernais" by Rosa Bonheur. That painting is beautiful because of the triangular composition. It also shows the diffuculty of work and human condition that matter for me.

  • As objects, I really like african masks. They are simple, primitive and reflect where I came from and who are my ancestors. That object looks like me.

  • As landscape, I really olaces of north west Africa. It is the ocher color of these places that I find unique and amazing.

Blog #11: Artist Project II- Film

- I didn't know that Picasso and Modigliani were rivals - His health problems had an important impact on him - Poverty was an important part of his life - He loved to paint women

My favorite color

I wear lot of grey clothes. Because it makes me feel simple. However I like bright colors. It is a big paradox.                    I like flashy yellow or green. Orange is my favorite one I can say.                    As colorful image, I really like the painting '' Dynamism of a Soccer Player '' of  Umberto BOCCIONI. All the bright colors that I like are there. Their symbiosis also show the dynamism an ;movement that BOCCIONI needed to express. The futurism movement know how to use color for me. They use it to show other things. It is reference in terms of colors. Dynamism of a Soccer Player,  Umberto BOCCIONI,  1913
